Accordian photo album

Hi There! Tiffany, from the Creative Team here. I’m happy to show you one of my latest creations. One of my favorite ones too. Today, I’m going to show you how to make this beautiful photo album. It’s the perfect size to fit in your purse, stow away into Daddy’s briefcase or send to a friend. I’ll be making a lot more of these.

Preview2 Supplies needed:

  • 3 – 12×12 sheet of cardstock. I used a basic green, orange and white cardstock from Provo craft.
  • 2 coordinating sheets of your designer paper. I printed Deena’s new line Scarborough Fair – Open Air collection at Design House Digital. love.
  • D Cut CD holder + 2 overlays ( I cut 2 of the overlays in matching paper. One for my CD holder and one for my album to tie it all together.)
  • glue stick
  • paper cutter or scissors
  • scoring blade
  • coordinating ribbon
  • photos. I used 4, you can use more or less… totally up to you.

Accordian step1Start by cutting your 12×12 sheet into 2- 4.75 inch strips.

Then we are going to score them in the opposite direction, so we make it 4.75 inches again. It should be square. You’ll do 2 scores per strip. They’ll end up looking like this. Don’t be scared that you have a super short piece on each strip.Accordian step2 Pick one of your short sections and glue to the back side of a larger piece.
Accordian step3 Make sure to match them up pretty good. I left the back side as is. You can sure cover it up with another sheet of paper or even a photo.
Accordian step4 The second little short piece. I cut off and tossed into my scrap pile (have I mentioned how I LOVE my scrap pile? Great for card making or little projects.)

Accordian step5I then cut my selected paper to a 4.5×4.5 square. Here I show with white paper, but I did a couple other pages with the scarborough fair paper. (just didn’t catch it on film.) Glue.

cut your photos to 4.25×4.25 squares and adhere to the center. I like it so they all have a little border.

Accordian step6 After I had it all glued on, I decided that I wanted to distress it a little and ink the edges… would have been easier to do this before, but still totally worked I just bent my pages back.

Accordian step7Now for the cover of my album. I used a piece of orange left over from my CD holder (I just love these!) and another piece of scrap of my Scarborough Fair print. I made sure they made a 4.75×4.75 square together and glued. I had them overlap, makes life a little easier.

Accordian step8

Then comes the ribbon. I used a pretty orange ribbon (American crafts). I only glue to the front of the album, since I want it to be able to open. Make sure to give yourself enough room to tie it off. I also added my 2nd CD holder overlay that I cut to dress up the fron a little. cute huh?Accordian step9

There you have it. A perfect matching envelope and perfect, sweet little family album to go.Accordian step10
